Our number one priority is always to provide a safe and healthy environment for our students, families, and staff. As we are aware, it is especially important during this time. Please see below our COVID -19 procedures to ensure the safety of all our families!
Due to the COVID -19 restrictions our temporary operating hours are 6:30am - 6:00 pm.
A temperature of 100.4 is considered symptomatic. If this occurs the parent must take the child home and return only after a negative Covid test is provided .
Increased emphasis on healthy hygiene: Children and staff wash their hands with soap for 20 seconds when:
No-touch soap dispensers and no-touch sanitizer dispensers are installed in all classrooms. Teachers reinforce the children washing their hands, covering their mouth when they cough, covering sneezes and not to touch their face. Staff practice these guidelines at the same time. Cleaning logs are displayed in each class room and hallway with staff initials as they are completed. High–touch areas are sanitized twice daily. Parents are to provide two complete sets of clean clothes which is placed in a sealed bin with a label for each child. Infants, Toddlers and Waddlers should also have two complete sets of cleaned clothes in child’s bag. Staff wear masks, long sleeves shirts and smocks each day. They also have an extra set of clothes for themselves in case of any secretions from a child.
COVID -19 symptoms and exposure
In case of fever of 100.4 degree, cough, shortness of breath, staff or child will be immediately separated from other people at the center. Staff will be asked to leave center immediately. Parents will be immediately called to pick-up child and are expected to arrive no later than 45 minutes. The symptomatic child will be supervised by a staff while maintaining a safe distance. The symptomatic child and staff will be required to contact their pediatrician/ healthcare provider. If a child or staff tests positive for COVID-19, then they are required to notify the center. Any confirmed cases of COVID -19 occurring in the center will be immediately reported to both the local department of health and the DCF office of licensing. The center will follow the health department recommendations. Before reopening, the center will be deep cleaned and exposed items/places sanitized. The child or staff that contacted or were exposed to COVID -19 will not be admitted back into center until the criteria for lifting transmission – based precautions and home isolations have been met. The criteria is available on New Jersey Dept. of Health’s website.
